Officially, the holiday campaign of the Epic Games Store will continue into the coming year, but the big bohei should be over as of today. Punctual at 17:00 o’clock revealed the Fortnite developer epic the last free game of the season. Since December 15, 2022 customers were offered a new game to download free of charge every day. The full versions of well-known and lesser-known games were completely free for account holders and were not linked to any subscription or anything similar. Epic Games Store: The last free game disappoints and is still a masterpiece
As with all previous 15 free games, Epic also gave hints as to which game it could be for the last title of the holiday campaign. Resourceful users recognized the implied symbol on a virtual wrapping paper immediately: It was clearly a sign on the back of the hand of the protagonist of the Dishonored series located.
Wild speculation immediately ran rampant as to which part it would be. Some players even harbored hopes that epic would be particularly generous at the end of the holiday campaign and put the whole series of games in the store for free. However, these expectations were not met.
Epic Games Store and Amazon Prime Gaming complement each other with their “free” promotions
Particularly curious: Only one day before the last free game of the holiday promotion in Epic Games Store was revealed, Amazon released 10 titles that Prime subscribers can download at no additional cost. Among these is Dishonored 2. So did Amazon get ahead of rival Epic?
It is really not so. While you can sign up with a subscription to Prime Gaming can download the second part of the popular game series, Epic only offers part 1 for free. Although this is the Definitive Edition, which has been slightly polished for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and includes all DLCs, but the fact that “only” the first part is available for free should be a disappointment. On a positive note, however, it should be noted that the offers from Amazon Prime Gaming and the Epic Games Store do not overlap, but rather complement each other perfectly.
