The first semi-final of Eurovision took place this Tuesday, May 9 in Liverpool. Ten first countries won their place for the final on May 13th.

Ten countries won their place in the Eurovision final on Tuesday evening. They were 15 to play the first semi-final of the competition, on the Liverpool stage. The Netherlands, Azerbaijan, Ireland, Latvia and Malta were eliminated.

Here is the list of selected countries: Finland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Moldova, Israel, Switzerland, Croatia, Portugal, Serbia, Norway.

These ten countries will therefore perform on Saturday 13 May alongside the 10 other countries selected during the second semi-final on Thursday 11 May, and the 6 countries automatically qualified. Among them the five largest financial contributors to the competition, called the Big Five (France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and Spain), as well as the country that won the previous edition, namely Ukraine this year.

Each semi-final is broadcast on YouTube and on France 24.

The Eurovision final will bring together 26 countries on the stage of the Liverpool Arena. La Zarra will defend France there, with its title with disco accents, Obviously. The Quebec singer is in the top 3 of the bookmakers, the Swedish Loreen, who has not left the first place in the ranking of the bookmakers for months with her title Tattooand the Finn Käärijä, who follows her in second position.
