Iceland’s CCP Games is planning a big year to celebrate 20 years of EVE Online.

In addition, a larger celebration is planned during this year’s EVE Fanfest in Reykjavik in September.
EVE Online still has around 30,000 concurrent players.

In an open letter to the players writes Snorri “CCP Rattati” Árnason that the developers work both to facilitate new players who have to compete with the established ones, and to strengthen the experience for those who have invested a lot of time in the game. He also boasts of the players’ eager activity, both in terms of fighting between players and in the game’s internal industry.
EVE Online is still going strong after 20 years, and although player numbers are lower than at their peak from 2009 to 2014, they still have a solid crowd that participates daily.
