The International Puppet Festival

Puppeteers and artists from all over the world gather in New York to be part of the International Puppet Fringe Festival, which takes place now through Sunday, August 13, at The Clemente Center (107 Suffolk Street) and other Lower Lower locations. The Rosario Dynasty at the United Palace

The Rosario Brothers will meet this Friday on the same stage to perform their classic merengues that made them one of the most famous representatives of the genre worldwide. El Gran Combo and Héctor Acosta together in The Bronx

Start the Frenzy Fest

Frenzy Fest, the first festival of theater and short films dedicated to mental health in East Harlem, returns this year more “frenzy” than ever, and will be taking place from August 10 to 20, at the Black Box Theater in the neighborhood ‘ s Artspace PS109, where the different works and films will be presented. Sugar Factory opens its doors in Times Square

The famous restaurant and celebrity spot, Sugar Factory American Brasserie, arrives in New York and will celebrate its grand opening this Friday, August 11 with a party organized by the Dominican singer Natti Natasha, who this weekend will also be honored in the Dominican Parade . After Hours at the Queen’s Museum

Battery Dance Festival

Battery Dance celebrates the 42nd anniversary of its summer festival, August 12-18, in partnership with the Battery Park City Authority. New York City’s oldest free public dance festival will feature in-person and live-streamed performances each night in Rockefeller Park, at 7pm. With local and international audiences in mind, the festival furthers Battery Dance’s mission of connecting the world through dance. The rolling Red Riding Hood

Kicking off this week is the CityParks PuppetMobile with a free, family-friendly original puppet production of Little Red Riding Hood, which returns by popular demand with shows running this week through October. With stops in all four boroughs of the city, the puppet show is an update of the classic tale with a modern sensibility. It will be offered in English, Spanish, and Mandarin at select locations. Dominican Pride in Central Park

As part of the city’s celebration of Dominican heritage, the Summerstage festival presents the Orgullo Dominicano concert this Sunday, with Prince Royce as the main artist.
