Gladbeck’s former Appeltatenmajestät Melis Bilici was a guest in Alanya. Anyone interested in becoming a queen can already register.
Since 1993 the city of Gladbeck has maintained an active twinning with Alanya. In this context, a delegation from the Turkish twin town travels to Gladbeck for the Appeltatenfest every year and presents the newly crowned Appeltatenmajestät with a very special one Gift: a trip for two to Alanya.
Melis Bilici, Appeltatenmajestät from 2019 to 2021, was only able to redeem this gift this March due to the corona. Mayor Mehmet Ali Tekin received the guest “very warmly”. During the one-week stay, Melis Bilici was able to get a good impression of Gladbeck’s sister city: For example, there were sightseeing tours with stops at historical buildings and monuments of Alanya on the holiday plan.

Am festival weekend everything is about the apple. One of the highlights of the spectacle is the crowning of the Majesty of the Appeltaten, who then represents the city for a year. Meryem Cin, Appeltatenmajestät 2022, will remain in office until September.
