The exchange rate of the euro started the new trading week on Monday with losses. In the morning, the common currency was trading at $1.0670, a little less than on Friday evening.

On Monday night, $1.0656 was the lowest level in over a month. The European Central Bank (ECB) set the reference rate at $1.0690 on Friday afternoon.

The start of the week is quiet, at least in terms of economic data. Virtually no key economic figures are expected. From the ranks of the central banks, however, some high-ranking representatives want to speak. (dpa)
