Excluded. "I was super shocked" : Margaux (NOPLP) reacts to her victory in La Ligue des Maestros

This Saturday, January 7, 2023, ended the second edition of La Ligue des Maestros which saw the ten best candidates of Do not forget the lyrics. After Renaud in 2021, it was the pair made up of Margaux and Hervé who won the competition. If Hervé has already won several competitions, including the Masters in 2018 against Kevin, this is the first victory for the current record holder of the musical game of France 2 presented by Nagui. Tele-Leisure was able to ask him about his feelings and his partnership with Hervé.

Tele-Leisure: You still hadn’t won any competitions until now. Was it a source of pressure for you?

Margaux: At the beginning yes, I was a little in this vision but now not too much. I came really relaxed, I don’t put any more pressure on myself. I thought if I won it was cool and if I lost it would be just one more since I became Maestro.

How did you feel when you learned that you were in pairs with Hervé?

I was super happy because Hervé is very strong. Afterwards, out of the ten participants, no one is zero anyway. I had lost against him at the Masters 2021 so I was happy there to play with him. I didn’t tell myself that I had to ensure because he’s super strong but more than that we were going to have a good time.

It all happened in the last match against Renaud and Caroline. What state of mind were you in at that time?

In fact, I was a bit confused. I had not even understood that it was a decisive match. Nagui should have said it but when we won, I was super shocked. So just before, I didn’t have too much pressure. We were also very lucky because there were plenty of times when we could have lost and we managed to get away with it, so it’s a mixture of luck and success.

Hervé failed several songs, you blamed him?

No way ! I had enough luck on the songs. But it was above all Hervé who did well by giving me the right songs. It’s also my fault the times Hervé didn’t succeed because I chose the songs. I have not been able to detect his musical tastes. He was really unlucky to come across songs he didn’t know. I told myself that I was the problemthat I wore the scoumoune.

Since the Masters in November, have you already resumed revisions?

People think that since I have a fairly free schedule, I work all year round. But often, I’ve been working really hard the last three months. But I listen to songs all the time, so recent music comes in automatically.

Manon is currently having an incredible journey in the daily version. Are you afraid for your record?

In truth, It would be a lie to say that I don’t freak out whenever there is someone very strong. Even if, indeed, it will not change my life, it will still be a page that will turn the day it happens. When Manon broke my record for consecutive bells, I sent a message to congratulate her because it’s super cool. But actually, I follow her course to see if she overtakes me and she is still very strong because even finals that do not fall very often, she manages to get out of it.

Do you prefer the Maestros League, the Maestros Tournament or the Masters?

I prefer the League to the Masters because already there are two “same songs”. This allows the public not to have the same song twice because at the Masters we often go all the way. And I find that it’s without pressure so we take a little more pleasure. But I am seen a lot with all these competitions. People must be fed up seeing my face all the time but I love coming to the set. Caro and I loved coming for the 15th anniversary of the show. I was able to try the maracas but without much success.
