Do not forget the lyrics is renewed again this year with The League of Masters. This Friday January 6 and Saturday January 7 – in prime time, for this last date – several emblematic candidates of the program presented by Nagui will compete, in somewhat special conditions. Indeed, for the first time the ten masters at the top of official ranking of the show will play as a duo. Kevin (n°3) and Jérémy (n°8) will support each other for a profit-making match. In the running for the winning pair: up to 100,000 euros… Full of new ideas tackled by the former number 1 in the musical game, finishing second in this special edition!

“The new rule thremoves some of the responsibility that one may have in the event of failure”

Tele-Leisure : before tackling La Ligue des Maestros, how did you feel?

Kevin: This is perhaps one of the only times when we all leave feeling very relaxed, we just want to have fun. Personally, I had really dropped the revisions, there I just wanted to have fun. During the Masters, there is always this pressure, nobody manages to take pleasure, whereas there for the blow it was the opposite.

How did you welcome the new rules of La Ligue des Maestros?

When I learned that we were going to be a team, I was happy. Especially to be with Jérémy, who is a friend. It was the only big change, compared to last year. Ultimately, it removes part of the responsibility that we may have in the event of failure. We don’t take all the weight of the guilt on us (laughs).

Did you have the opportunity to choose your partner?

No, the distribution is made by order in the ranking!

You made a small mistake in your first match against Margaux and Hervé…

There were same songs relay. We were the first to cover this theme and we got a little cheated on that because the pace is fast… We thought that everyone was going to share half of the song, but we didn’t pay attention to the lights (which come on to signal that we have to change singers). So we sang at the same time and we understood, for the other matches, that we shouldn’t do it like that (laughs). We knew the lyrics, we just miscoordinated.

“We both hadn’t studied!”

Was this unexpected event easy to manage?

Yes, I really liked it and we all get along very well! I find La Ligue des Maestros a little more fun because during the masters, it’s a huge pressure from the start. If you mess up the first match, it’s over and you worked for nothing, in fact… With the Masters, I never take pleasure, unless I go far. The Maestros Tournament is a team game but when you lose, you no longer have much use in the game… And during La Ligue, we lost our very first match and at the end of the competition we end up second place! It’s performance over time, and I think that’s what suits me best.

What was your strong point with Jérémy?

We had good communication and we tried to choose songs to promote each other. Even if sometimes I was not very comfortable with a title, I took it because I knew that it would not be more to his advantage than me. And I think he was thinking the same thing. Overall we had a strategy that worked well and there is always a bit of chance too (laughs). Then especially as we know each other well, if ever there was one who screwed up, there was not this pressure from the other which makes him feel guilty indirectly. We both hadn’t studied!
