Plants that can light up cities, apartments dedicated to women victims of violence, birds to be raised without cages and in apartments… For its third season, Who wants to be my partner? relies on amazing, responsible and ecological inventions. With Cushion d’air, Olivier Cibidé came to present an object in which he believes in front of the five investors.

A project that did not convince investors to Who wants to be my partner?

But at the end of his passage, none of the five investors facing him wanted to put money. It must be said that several problems were stated by Eric Larchevèque, Delphine André, Jean-Pierre Nadir or even Anthony Bourbon – whom he had already had the opportunity to meet – and Isabèle Chevalier. The first is interest: is there really a market for this type of product? Moreover, it is the valuation of the company that raises questions – Olivier Cibidé thus offers 2 million euros, which seems too high, in particular to Marc Simoncini. A “trick question” for the entrepreneur, who explained to Tele-Leisure that “talking about valuation on something that does not exist, it does not make sense”, and that he has “always fought the business plan.” A few months after the shooting, he nevertheless agreed to take stock of the future of his business.

“I don’t have time to take care of that”

Left without investor after Who wants to be my partner?, the Air Cushion project, which required five years of development in the laboratory, therefore made a splash. But even so, Olivier Cibidé does not admit defeat: “Hopefully this will eventually lead to something,” he tells us. If he has not found new investors since the shooting, he nevertheless reveals “to have contacts in the United States”and be convinced that it is an invention “useful for people” : “There are people for whom it is a real problem”, citing his personal experience on a trip with his girlfriend, but also that of one of his friends, who had trouble going to the bathroom while his family was around.
