The women had gone out to shop when the car they were in was hit by a truck in which two teenagers, ages 14 and 15, were traveling.

Initially the journalist from Univision Javier Díaz reported that the crash involved three vehicles, two of which collided and a third that ended up violently entering the yard of a home.

Díaz spoke of two injured people, including a minor, who would be one of the teenagers who was driving his car.
