What do families do on the first of January? How about a visit to a museum? Especially since it’s Museum Sunday and many museums offer free admission and some also have special promotions. Tickets for Museum Sunday are only available at https://shop.museumssonntag.berlin and not in the museums.
1 See in the future
The first of January is somehow the first day of the future. So what could be more obvious than going to the Futurium with the children – to the museum of the future. The house at Alexanderufer 2 in 10117 Berlin is open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Information at futurium.de.
2 Build a toothbrush robot
The Technology Museum is also part of the Museum Sunday, the program includes a tour on the subject of road traffic, an experiment at minus 196 degrees, a workshop on building toothbrush robots and a family tour (Trebbiner Straße 9, 10963 Berlin). Info below technikmuseum.berlin.
3 visit monsters
The Museum for Communication also takes part in Museum Sunday, for example with the exhibition “Of Monsters, Mice and Men. Axel Scheffler’s fantastic letter pictures”.
For children from the age of four, the workshop “Conjuring up something beautiful out of recycled material” is offered three times a day. Registration directly at the museum. Info mfk-berlin.de.
