Ubisoft is said to be working on the seventh part of Far Cry and a multiplayer franchise. According to reports, there is even a rough release time window for Far Cry 7 and the multiplayer game.

The next Far Cry howls in the distant future

After Far Cry 6 was able to inspire the masses in a rather mediocre way, reports kotaku and insider gaming that the developer is already working on the next entry – along with the almost obligatory multiplayer experience.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot is said to have mentioned both games during an internal company update. The anonymous sources of the two publications were also able to confirm that the titles are being developed with Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine, which also runs The Division games. Upcoming titles such as Star Wars Open World or Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will also be developed with this engine. With that, Ubisoft would be leaving the Dunia engine.

The developer studio in Montreal is to work on the projects. The sources even gave more information about the multiplayer. This is said to be an extraction-based shooter set in the Alaskan wilderness.

The two titles should not appear until autumn 2025, it is said. Well, if the inside information is correct, of course. But it doesn’t sound all that unlikely. We’ll see, there’s still enough time until 2025 to clear up this rumor.
