finds her final rest Lisa Maria Presley right next to her son.
On January 12, 2023, the rock legend’s only daughter died Elvis Presley († 42) on one heart attack at the age of 54.
Now there are the first details about her funeral.
Lisa Marie Presley is said to be with her son at the Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee on Sunday Benjamin Keough († 27) will be buried, who committed suicide in 2020. Before that, there will be a public memorial service in the garden of Graceland.
“Riley, Harper, Finley and Priscilla are grateful for the support, well wishes and many expressions of love in honor of their beloved Lisa Marie. A public memorial service has been scheduled for Sunday, January 22 at 9:00 am on the lawn of Graceland arranged in Memphis,” the family said in an official statement.
In addition to Lisa Marie’s son Benjamin Keough, Elvis, his mother Gladys (1912-1958), his father Vernon (1916-1979) and his grandmother Minnie Mae (1890-1980) are buried in the private cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that money be donated to the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation, which Lisa Marie has always championed. The foundation supports arts, education and children’s organizations.
But even if the details of the funeral seem to have been clarified now, the family is far from calm. Lisa Marie Presley is said to have left €13 million in debt.
A dispute over custody of their 14-year-old twins, Finley and Harper, is also looming. The two come from Lisa Maria’s fourth marriage to musician Michael Lockwood (61). After a bitter divorce process, she was awarded 60 percent custody and he was awarded 40 percent. Now he has already announced that he wants to fight for sole custody.
Finley and Harper lived with her mother’s ex-husband Danney Keough, 58, until her mother’s death, who sees himself as the teenager’s stepfather. He also wants custody.
Since there is a lot of money at stake, it is not unlikely that Lisa Marie’s mother Priscilla Presley (77) will also interfere in the custody dispute.
According to various media reports, Graceland will remain in the family after Lisa Marie Presley’s death.
The proceeds from the property, which once belonged to Elvis Presley, will go to Lisa Marie’s daughters Riley Keough (33) and Harper and Finley Lockwood
Elvis Presley lived in the property from 1957, which is estimated at around 92 million euros today. This is also where he was found dead in his bathroom in 1977. The then nine-year-old Lisa Marie Presley inherited Graceland, since she was a minor, the “Elvis Presley Trust” ran the business. The foundation later also founded “Elvis Presley Enterprises”, which together with Priscilla Presley (77) managed the property and turned it into a museum.
Hundreds of thousands of Elvis fans still visit Graceland every year, the place where Elvis not only lived but where another family member is now buried.
