Fatal accident at Tebicuary crossing: truck collided with a Scania

Three judges from Ciudad del Este received death threats from two men whom they convicted during a trial. The defendants, linked to an act of homicide, also tried to attack a prosecutor.

On Friday there was a moment of tension in the Judiciary of Ciudad del Este during the development of oral trial against Juan Gabriel Gauto Caballero and Darwin Espínola Valdez.

According to the report, both defendants threatened to kill judges Lourdes Morínigo, Oscar Genez and Evangelina Villalbamembers of the Sentencing Court, after having sentencing against both.

This fact was harshly repudiated by different sectors and unionsincluding the Association of Fiscal Agents of Paraguay and the Association of Magistrates of Alto Paraná (ASOMAP)who expressed their solidarity both with the judges and with the fiscal agent.

The background of the case were sent to the Public Ministry and the Superintendence of the Supreme Court of Justicein order to analyze what happened and take the measures that are considered pertinent.
