FC Bayern: Tuchel laughs at the reporter’s question and talks about Kolo Muani

The fee is too high for the risk that Osimhen could not work with the record champions. Instead, Randal Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt should now be the top candidate for Munich.

Kolo Muani came to Frankfurt from Nantes on a free transfer last summer, has been involved in 25 goals (13 goals, twelve assists) in 28 Bundesliga games and impresses with strong performances. So it’s no wonder that Thomas Tuchel was asked about Bayern’s alleged interest in the Frenchman at the press conference ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga game against Bremen (6:30 p.m.).

When asked by a reporter whether Tuchel could confirm the plan to sign Kolo Muani, Tuchel was amused. His first reaction: a hearty laugh. Shaking his head, the 49-year-old then said clearly: “No, I can’t confirm that. We can do that very briefly.”

When asked quietly why he couldn’t confirm it, Tuchel added: “Because I can’t confirm it. First of all, I wouldn’t confirm it if it were, but I can’t confirm it either because it isn’t at the moment.” When asked again if there was no interest, Tuchel continued to respond with a smile: “It’s not an issue at the moment.”

It is much more of an issue for Tuchel that he has to struggle with some of his players’ failures. While Dayot Upamecano is still dealing with a hamstring tear, Alphonso Davies is also missing with a hamstring tear. In addition, Leon Goretzka is suspended because of his fifth yellow card, while striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has to sit out with a knee problem. And Josip Stanisic is also missing with a torn fibre.

Especially in the last few weeks he seems to have shown himself a little more in training. Tuchel explained at the press conference: “First of all, I liked him and it’s obvious. He deserves it.”

Despite the rump squad, a win in Bremen is a must for Bayern to remain at the top of the table. The championship is the only title that coach Thomas Tuchel’s team can still win and is the minimum claim for Munich this season.
