Will 1. FC Köln lose one of their greatest talents in the summer? According to the Cologne Express, it is “no secret”that young striker Justin Diehl (18) is actively offered by his management at other clubs. Although the FC could extend the expiring contract by one season until 2024, an early change would not be ruled out even then – after all, the last chance for a reasonable fee would be in the summer.
In order to prevent a loss of the highly talented youngster, the Cologne Diehl would have to show a perspective in addition to financial arguments. FC coach Steffen Baumgart shouldn’t fail: “The boy makes a good impression, we like the boy. It’s my job to work with him and, if I’m allowed, to make him a Bundesliga player. We’re going to assume that for the time being.”
