The Berlin election night fell mainly for the FDP bitter out. The Liberals failed at the five percent hurdle. This is already the fifth unsuccessful state election as a result.
Allegedly, the FDP party leader Christian Lindner has already found the culprit for the election defeat in Berlin: his party colleague Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann.

The news portal “The Pioneer” is said to have reported this, writes the platform “Turi2”. It says that Lindner is partly responsible for Strack-Zimmermann’s carnival performance for the defeat in the elections in Berlin. The “Flugzwerg” criticism of CDU leader Friedrich Merz was “not helpful” in the final phase of the election campaign, Lindner is said to have said in the presidium meeting on Monday.
Strack-Zimmermann dealt hard against Merz at carnival
Disguised as Snow White’s evil stepmother, the FDP politician dedicated her speech to an unnamed politician who obviously meant Friedrich Merz. In doing so, she describes him as a “mid-sized flight dwarf”, which makes the enthusiastic hobby pilot of the CDU obviously not very enthusiastic.

The office of the CDU party leader then complained to Strack-Zimmermann that as she reported in the live podcast “Capital – The Briefing” by “The Pioneer”.
Lindner allegedly accuses his party colleague of the following: With her verbal attack on Merz, she gave the CDU the opportunity to attack the FDP and to distance herself from her.
Is that true? According to Lindner, this accusation is nothing but a lie.
Lindner defends himself against allegations
He shares the post on Twitter and makes it clear: “This reporting is wrong.” He prefers a different kind of humor, but doesn’t tend towards ridiculous “monocausal explanations”. According to him, Twitter seems to believe everything.
The journalist Dunja Hayali comments under the post that she is now very curious about the answer from “The Pioneer” – and it will follow promptly.
“The Pioneer” Editor-in-Chief clarifies
The editor-in-chief of “The Pioneer” reports personally and refers to the original source in the comments. He clarifies that Lindner did not hold his party colleague Strack-Zimmermann responsible for the election defeat – but described the speech as “unhelpful”.
Despite the clarification, some Twitter users are railing against the FDP politician. “Even now, as always, you do not take responsibility for the fifth loss in a row and only the others are to blame,” says a comment.
“Flying high, arrogance and self-importance comes before the fall,” warns the user.
