The former president of Mexico, Felipe Calderón Hinojosa shared in Twitter several informative notes about Jesús “Rey Zambada” García, and the statements about President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in the trial against Genaro García Luna in New York.

Calderón retweeted the messages that said that “King Zambada” would have bribed Gabriel Regino, a former AMLO official, with 7 million dollars for a campaign against Vicente Fox, something that the drug trafficker denied.

According to the journalist, Keegan Hamilton, of Vice magazine, “defense attorney César de Castro asked ”Rey Zambada” in cross-examination if he remembered telling the US about the $7 million payment to Andrés Manuel López Obrador. “King” said no, he didn’t remember saying that.”

In a follow-up question, de Castro was more specific, claiming that “Rey Zambada” had told US investigators that $7 million was paid through Gabriel Regino, when AMLO appeared against Vicente Fox.

Rey said again, “I couldn’t have said that because it’s not true.”
