In his first public appearance after receiving the support of eleven governors to promote the request for impeachment of the four judges of the Supreme Court of Justice, Alberto Fernández argued to justify himself: “We deserve a decent Justice service.”
“I promised to have a country with a better institutional quality. And in the search for that institutional quality, we had to promote what we are promoting today,” said the President when announcing equipment for the Federal Genomics Network at the Anlis Malbrán Institute, in an act together with the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti.
Surrounded by officials and scientists, Fernández remarked: “Argentines who deserve to have a good education, good health, access to the best technology; we also deserve to have a decent justice service.”
“And what I want is to put this debate in Argentine society, and we are going to do it because it is time for us to do it, because this year we celebrate 40 years of democracy and it is a pending debate on democracy,” Fernández said in his only reference to the request for impeachment of the four members of the Supreme Court, Horacio Rosatti, Carlos Rosenkrantz, Juan Carlos Maqueda and Ricardo Lorenzetti.
This Tuesday afternoon, the President obtained the support of 11 governors, who issued an official statement stating: “To promote the political trial against the President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, Dr. Horacio Rosatti, for having committed reiterated in behaviors that make up the cause of poor performance in their functions provided for in article 53 of our National Constitution”.
And it adds: “Regarding some facts with different degrees of responsibility, request that the impeachment process begin with respect to the members of the highest court Carlos Rosenkrantz, Juan Carlos Maqueda and Ricardo Lorenzetti.”
And it concludes with the request to the block of deputies of the Front of All to promote, as soon as possible, the institutional process in the National Congress.
