Duisburg.
The line-up is stronger than ever. Indie rock heroes like Interpol and teen heartthrob Edwin Rosen share the stages at the Traumzeit Festival.

Last year the Editors, now Interpol. Fans of indie rock will once again get their money’s worth at the Traumzeit Festival in the North Landscape Park. The US band is the first international top act that the Traumzeit makers around festival director Frank Jebavy and artistic director Marcus Kalbitzer have now announced.

Teen heartthrobs and postpunk heroes

This year, the happening that brings generations together will take place from June 16th to 18th in the North Landscape Park. The musical program is as exciting as never before and appeals to an audience where hordes of freaking out teenagers alternate with well-aged post-punkers in front of the stages at the blast furnace.

Ever since his first single “lighter/cold” Edwin Rosen has definitely been the name in the German music scene that’s being hyped the most at the moment. The first solo tour of the 25-year-old from Stuttgart last year was completely sold out. Betterov is on a similar sound track as the Joy Division fan. The musician and actor landed a surprise hit with “Dusmann” and, just like Edwin Rosen, should raise the alarm among Generation Z in the Lapa.

First show since 2019

If you come from New York City to the Ruhr area and play your first show in Duisburg since 2019, the main stage on Cowperplatz should be just big enough. Interpol, founded in 1997 by singer and guitarist Paul Banks, have released some great works over the course of their career, which has now spanned over a quarter of a century. “Obstacle 1” from the grandiose debut “Turn on the Bright Lights” or “Evil” from the equally strong follow-up album “Antics” are pieces of timeless quality that are already considered classics in the independent music scene.

In addition to Interpol, the Australian singer-songwriter Caroline Rose, the indie folk artist Dekker and the Glass Beams have now been announced for the second batch. This means that 15 bands have now been confirmed for the festival in the Duisburg-Nord landscape park.
