NoOn the 12th of May there will be a Super Ball at MusicBox, in Lisbon. The project, which brings together musicians from different universes, will recover the imagery of popular dances and bring it to the club context.

“In the collective mind, dancing is synonymous with conviviality, liberation, joy, gathering, lightness and letting go of rules and customs”, recalls the group, in a statement sent to the News by the Minuterevealing that it was in this spirit “that a superband emerged, starting from keyboards and a drum machine to create their own original versions of popular dance music”.

The superband is made up of five well-known artists from the national music circuit — on vocals Lila Fadista (Fado Bicha) and João Sala (Ganso, Zarco) and on keyboards Raquel Pimpão (Fumo Ninja, Femme Falafel), Edvânio Vunge (Força Suprema, Nayr Faquirá) and also Gui Tomé Ribeiro (Salto, GPU Panic) and will present “versions and originals of dance songs sung in turn or in duet by the two voices, interspersed with instrumental moments”.

Tickets for the first of five Super Ball nights are on sale now at musicboxlisboa.com and have a cost of 10 euros.
