The Attorney General of the Republic arrested Jesús Óscar Navarro Gárate, former director of Administration and Finance of Segalmex, for his alleged participation in embezzlement of 142 million pesos.

According to the National Registry of Detentions, the former official was captured this Tuesday at 6:19 p.m., although without specifying the place where it happened.

According to the FGR investigation, Segalmex simulated the purchase of 7,840 tons of sugar, for which it paid 142 million pesos.

Diconsa generated documents that mention that the front company Servicios Integrales Carregín did not deliver 60 percent of the sugar and therefore demanded reimbursement of 87 million 977 thousand 516.40 pesos from the supplier and even filed a civil lawsuit against him for breach of contract.

However, there is no evidence that the supplier has delivered that 40 percent of the sugar, according to the arrest warrant issued on March 2 by the control judge Gregorio Salazar Hernández, against 22 alleged implicates.
