It’s almost that time again: FIFA will be honoring the best players and coaches of the year at The Best Football Awards on February 27th. The world association has now announced the finalists for the most coveted trophy of the evening. Karim Benzema (35), Kylian Mbappé (24) and Lionel Messi (35) are in the final selection for Player of the Year 2022.
Benzema could also win the FIFA Best Player trophy after winning the Ballon d’Or last October. 14 professionals were initially nominated for the “Best FIFA Men’s Player” award, which were ultimately reduced to three candidates by a jury of experts.
Conveniently, the award ceremony at the end of February will take place in Paris for the first time. So Mbappé and Messi can leave their travel bags in the closet.
