The strike in Hollywood has now put a damper on a major production, namely Marvel’s upcoming film Blade, which has now been paused. And it’s not the first time that filming has encountered setbacks that mean the work has to be put on the shelf temporarily. The last time this happened was in September of last year when original director Bassam Tariq dropped out of the film due to creative differences which resulted in the film being put on hold even then until Yann Demange took the job instead and filled his shoes.

Blade is scheduled for release on September 6, 2024, but if the strike drags on, it’s unclear if we’ll see our leather-clad vampire hunter until then. And with a continued strike, several upcoming Marvel films could also be affected, Deadpool 3 is at risk as it is set to be the next film to be filmed. Let’s hope our screenwriters get the raise they’re asking for so nothing messes up the filming of our beloved Wade Wilson’s next bone-crushing film.
