Actor Finn Jones didn’t get the best response when the Marvel show Iron Fist premiered on Netflix six years ago, with fans unconvinced he was Danny Rand and the series itself being canceled after two choppy seasons. However, in an interview with Geekscape, Jones was asked if he would appreciate the chance to play the character again – and also took the opportunity to call the disappointed fans “motherfuckers”:
“I’d love another chance. I care about Danny Rand deeply, I believe in that character, I think there’s a lot of work to be done. There’s something about the underdog, y’know? I love the underdog narrative. I love the ability to prove someone wrong, and I want to prove all those motherfuckers wrong. I know I have it in me and I know I can give the Danny Rand performance that fans want and that is possible.”
There is nothing to indicate that the character Danny Rand would return to the Marvel film universe and the chance that Finn Jones would reprise the role is probably quite small. Would you like to see Iron Fist in Marvel’s upcoming phases? What do you think of Jones’ portrayal of the character?
