The streaming platform will experiment live for the first time with the live broadcast of a show by the American comedian on March 5, 2023.

Chris Rock’s next show is unveiled in a trailer. For Christmas, Netflix has shared a preview of the American comedian’s new show, Selective Outrage which will be broadcast live on March 5, 2023 from 4 a.m. in France.

This is a first for the streaming platform which had never before tried to broadcast live content and which wishes to diversify its offer in order to win back subscribers.

A show without editing or cutting

In this trailer, we see Chris Rock getting ready in the dressing rooms for his show and then going through the backstage of the room before going on stage.

As Netflix states in the description of its video, Selective Outrage will not contain any editing or cutting and risks addressing topical subjects such as the slap received by the comedian from Will Smith on the Oscars stage in March 2022.

Chris Rock had first mentioned this incident during a previous show in New Jersey last July:

“That shit hurt me. But I got rid of that shit and went to work the next day. I don’t go to the hospital for a paper cut,” he said.

Selective Outrage is Chris Rock’s seventh stand-up show and second to air on Netflix.
