Five police officers injured after explosion in front of police station in northeastern Colombia

Bogota, (EFE).- An explosion in front of a police station in the city of Bucaramanga, capital of the Colombian department of Santander, left five injured this Wednesday, authorities reported.

after 2:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m. GMT) an explosion was reported near the Police Station of the North of Bucaramanga, reported to EFE Manuel Vasquez, secretary of general interior of the active reserve of the Police.

The fact is being investigated by the authorities, although for the moment the possible authorship of the attack is unknown, while the agents have been transferred to a hospital center to be treated.

The images that have circulated on social networks show that the detonation occurred near a pole where the agents park their motorcycles.

At the moment, the mayor of Bucaramanga, Juan Carlos Cardenasconvened a security council to take action.
