It is already this small Liot group which had presented the motion of censure against the government after its recourse to article 49.3 of the Constitution to pass the pension reform without a vote. She had failed by just nine votes.
“There is a panic fear in the relative majority and in the government. We must not take the French for fools, it will be a political earthquake” if the bill were passed, said Bertrand Pancher.
“If the deputies elected by direct universal suffrage finally decide on this law, I do not see how President Macron could not take it into account,” he added.
Unlike the motion of censure which had to bring together an absolute majority of deputies to overthrow the government, this bill will be subject to a simple majority vote.
The executive, like the elected representatives of the presidential majority, affirm that even if the text is adopted at first reading, it has practically no chance of going through with its legislative process.
