During the night on Sunday, there was heavy smoke in a residential building in Götzis.
At 02:48 the Götzis fire brigade was called to an unclear development of smoke in a multi-storey residential building in Götzis. The volunteer fire brigade immediately initiated the evacuation of the residential property. In the course of the evacuation, the fire brigade was able to determine the cause of the heavy smoke development on the ground floor. Here, a resident had forgotten a cooking pot on the stove, which led to massive smoke development in the apartment building.
The tenant of the apartment had to be taken to Feldkirch Regional Hospital with smoke inhalation. There was minor damage to property in the apartment. The residential property was aired by the Götzis fire brigade.
Forces used: Götzis fire brigade with 4 vehicles and 30 emergency services, rescue with two vehicles and 5 rescue services, VKW/Illwerke with a technician, police with two patrols and 4 emergency services.
