Chihuahua.- The Seventh Criminal Chamber in charge of Héctor Gonzalez, determined to link Víctor Manuel N. to the process for the crime of rape against a minor, who in 2018 would have committed the aggravated crime on two occasions against a young woman who at that time was 16 years old. This relationship is added to one for sexual abuse against another minor, whom the defendant would have groped sexually, taking advantage of his position as president of the State Association of Cheerleaders and Entertainers.

In the explanation of reasons, Judge González indicated that the judge did not apply the criteria with a gender perspective and that he should have been more technical in his jurisdictional exercise. He also stated that the victim received pressure from the defendant to agree to have relations with him. The acts constituting a possible crime were committed between March and April, as well as in May 2018.

The former president of the Association was linked to the process on October 18 for the crime of aggravated sexual abuse against a minor. The defendant was appointed in October 2015 as president of the Chihuahua State Association of Cheerleaders and Animation Groups, a position that would have allowed him to be close to his alleged victims, who were cheerleaders.

Despite the relationship, Víctor Manuel N. received the precautionary measure of house pressure, since the judge at that time indicated that there was no risk for the alleged victim. If convicted, he faces possible sentences of 15 years for abuse and 40 for aggravated rape, according to the Penal Code.
