Four other doctors are being investigated at liberty under judicial control.

Some of them are resident anesthesiologists, the cited sources indicated.

On Wednesday morning, the prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Court, together with policemen from the General Anticorruption Directorate, carried out four searches, two of which at the headquarters of the Marius Nasta Institute, as part of two criminal files in which investigations are carried out under the aspect of committing crimes of bribe taking and bribe giving.

“In the two cases, it was noted that, during the years 2022 – 2023, several doctors from the ‘Marius Nasta’ Institute of Pneumophthisiology repeatedly received different amounts of money and goods from different patients of this hospital, in connection with the exercise of service duties (pre- and post-operative checks and surgical interventions). In the two cases, financial investigations were carried out, resulting in significant differences between the legal incomes and the wealth of some of the doctors targeted by the investigations, and the necessary legal measures will be ordered”, the prosecutors claim.
