On Saturday, it is pop icon Fredrik Auke (32), better known as Freddy Kalas, who invites the other artists to a table at Kjerringøy in Hver gang vi møstes.

Auke – most often with a hat, sunglasses and a broad smile on his face – is considered the king of party music in this country. There is a good chance that you have heard the 32-year-old’s feel-good songs either at a party or après-ski.

The drummer is behind hits such as “Pinne for landet”, “Jovial” and “Feel Da Rush”, and was nominated for the prestigious Spellemannsprisen in 2016 for Song of the Year.

Auke was at one point the most streamed artist in Norway, after Broiler and Kygo, and has a quarter of a billion listens on various music services. He has also participated in Melodi Grand Prix, and appeared on stages such as Allsang på grensen and VG-lista.

His breakthrough as a solo artist came in 2015, but in the previous years he formed part of Broiler with his little brother Simen Auke and Mikkel Buxrud Christiansen, where he lent his voice to country hits such as “Vannski” and “Bonski”.
