Free summer meal program for kids kicks off in NYC: locations here

NEW YORK — New York City kids are out on vacation, which means the city’s free summer meal program, called Free Summer Meals, It is funded by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). It provides a nutritious breakfast and lunch that includes milk, fruits, vegetables, and cereals to all children under 18 years of age.

The Summer Meals Program is available beginning Wednesday, June 28 through September 1 throughout New York City to anyone under the age of 18. Designated public schools, community pool centers, parks, and food trucks will be open for service. No registration, documentation or identification is needed to receive a free breakfast or lunch.

Service dates and menus

  • All dates, times, locations, and menus are subject to change.
  • Wednesday, June 28, 2023 – Friday, September 1, 2023.
  • Some locations open on Wednesday June 28 (Eid al-Adha).
  • Locations throughout the city will open on Thursday, June 29, 2023
  • No service Tuesday, July 4, 2023 (July 4)
