Various orchestras take film soundtracks and play them live on stage. The selection smells from Harry Potter to The Batman.

What makes a good film for you? Maybe it’s the story. Maybe it’s the actors and actresses too. For many people, however, it is also the music. It’s not for nothing that we can hum along to the theme tune to the Harry Potter films or belt out any Elton John song from The Lion King with fervor. Soundtracks give you goose bumps – sometimes quite unknowingly. And not just in the cinema, but also on the big stage with a live orchestra. We have put together a selection of film music played live for you.

Harry Potter

Music from the “Harry Potter” series is particularly popular with the orchestras. John Williams composed the music for the first three films and thus also created the famous “Hedwig’s Theme”, which blossomed into the leitmotif. These and other songs are performed by the London Philharmonic & Symphonic Film Orchestra in The Magical Music of Harry Potter. A light and laser show will also create a magical atmosphere.

Frodo & Co also have a similarly large fan base as the likeable magician’s student. Whether it’s the idyllic sounds of the Hobbit garden party or the gloomy tones from the depths of Mordor. Director Peter Jackson and composer Howard Shore have not only created a cinematic but also a musical masterpiece with “The Lord of the Rings”. This is also linked to “The Hobbit”. The greatest hits – also from the series success “The Rings of Power” – play The Orchestra of The Shire and the Ukrainian The Academic Khmelnitsky Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. The evening will be moderated by actor William Kircher, who played the dwarf Bifur in The Hobbit.
