Career path of Daniel Strasser
As a child, Daniel Sträßer attended a Waldorf school, where he gained his first stage experience. In Salzburg he completed his acting studies at the Mozarteum University. The young actor was signed to a theater production while he was still at university.
Daniel Sträßer attracted attention with his talent: During a university performance in Hamburg he was discovered by the manager of the Burgtheater in Vienna. And immediately booked for the title role in “Romeo and Juliet”!
After his successful debut at the Burgtheater in 2011, another engagement at the Burgtheater in Vienna followed. He acted in many plays by Shakespeare and Goethe.
In 2013, Daniel Sträßer worked on the Shoah contemporary witness project “The Last Witnesses” about the November pogroms of 1938. The performance was praised by both viewers and critics.
Daniel Sträßer made his cinema debut in the Austrian film The Last Dance. Provocative: He plays the role of a civil servant who develops a love affair with a much older Alzheimer’s patient (played by Erni Mangold). The film has received several awards.
In 2019 it became known that Daniel Sträßer was the new commissioner in the Saarbrücken becomes a crime scene.
private life
Even before his involvement in Saarbrücken-Tatort, Daniel Sträßer had a long-standing friendship with a colleague from the Burgtheater and now also from the Tatort Jasna Fritzi Bauer. He has a son with actress Janina Schauer.
