The Gears of War license is one of the behemoths from Xbox Game Studios. This TPS has made a name for itself in the industry since its launch in 2006, on Xbox 360. Since then, the adventures of Marcus Fenix have included several games and derivative objects. The latest announced? A card game on the table!

The Steamforged store, specializing in the adaptation of video game licenses into board games, announced its new project with a laconic tweet: yes, Gears of War will be entitled to an adaptation of its universe into a playing card game. After having embarked on the creation of Elden Ring, Dark Souls or Resident Evil games, the group will soon be offering a Gears of War game.
No information has yet been given regarding the rules in play or how it works. However, it would seem that the game is chaptered and that certain key features of the license, such as taking cover, will be included. The first official image also shows that players will be prompted to occasionally draw from a deck. Great classic, but with Gears sauce!
No date or content has been revealed, but Steamforged has made available a email registration link for who would like to keep up to date with the latest news. After the adaptation projects on Netflix, the Gears license therefore has a bright future ahead of it and is opening up even more to the extended cultural universe.
