A Georgia man, identified as 58-year-old Ralph Butler, was charged by authorities with stabbing his girlfriend to death. following an argument in which the suspect allegedly accused the victim of stealing it. This was reported by the news portal Fox News.
The victim was identified as Yolanda Hammond.50 years old.
Butler was taken into custody and He was charged with murder, aggravated assault and aggravated domestic violence.
According to Fox News, the event occurred overnight at a residence on Bush Chapel Drive, specifically in the 100 block, shortly before 11:00 PM last Friday. Butler confronted Hammond and accused her of stealing some of her belongings, the Winder Police Department reported.
According to reports from authorities, as Butler and Hammond were arguing, another person got involved in the argument and was punched by Butler.
Subsequently, the fight between the couple continued until Butler allegedly stabbed Hammond to death, who died at the scene after police officers arrived at the residence.
The other man involved in the event, whose identity has not yet been revealed and whose relationship to the couple remains unknown, was immediately taken to a nearby hospital. According to Fox News, the man had a head injury, although it was not serious.
After the alleged deadly attack, Butler fled the scene, police said. Nevertheless, the suspect was located by police officers in conjunction with personnel from the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office at an address near Bethlehem the morning after the incident.
