While many are entering the last part of their winter holidays, including Agder, Oslo and Trøndelag, the weekend is the start of the winter holidays for, among others, Vestlandet and Rogaland.

According to meteorologist on duty in Storm, Beate Tveita, the coming weekend will be a good start, and end, of the winter holidays.

Lots of sun and mild temperatures will characterize at least the southern parts of the country.

– The areas in the south will get better and better weather over the weekend, says Tveita.

Sleet and snow showers in the North

Although there is mostly rest and fine weather, it can be a bit windy on the mountain, but not enough to spoil a possible cabin trip.

– There may be some wind, but there won’t be any storms. There may be a bit of snow, but nothing dramatic, says Tveita.

While southerners can look forward to cloudless skies and scorching sun, northern Norway is not as lucky.

Large parts of northern Norway get more sleet and snow showers. In some places it will also be exposed to gales.

However, Troms and Finnmark do not have winter holidays until week 10.

The fine weather continues

The good weather in southern Norway will also continue into next week, the meteorologist says.

Several cities in the south can get up to six or seven plus degrees and stay throughout the week.

Further north, on the other hand, it can be more windy.

– Areas such as Møre and Romsdal are most exposed to westerly winds, and also northern Norway, says Tveita and continues:

– It will be good for those in the south. It quickly becomes an Easter atmosphere. The temperatures are good and it is very pleasant in the sun during the day.
