The teenager, aged 15, is indicted for murder of a minor under the age of 15, after the discovery Tuesday in Rambervillers, in the Vosges, of the lifeless body of Rose in the apartment where the suspect lived with his mother. He himself had contacted the gendarmerie and was immediately taken into custody. During his hearing, he did not give his version of the facts, choosing to assert his “right to silence”, according to Frédéric Nahon, public prosecutor of Épinal.
The young man had already been indicted for rape of a minor, sexual assault and kidnapping of two young boys aged 10 and 11 last year. He was then placed in an educational detention center for a year and was released last February. Placed under judicial supervision, the suspect had since been the subject of educational and psychiatric monitoring.
A “dangerousness for others”, according to experts
The public prosecutor of Épinal indicated this Thursday in police custody that, according to a provisional psychiatric expertise, the teenager suffered from an “altered discernment” and shows a “dangerousness for others”. A new expertise should be commissioned by the investigating judge.
The autopsy of the body of the little victim will take place Friday morning at the forensic institute of Nancy. In particular, it must make it possible to know how the girl died and if she was raped. A “pink” march is planned in his memory on Saturday in Rambervillers.
The suspect is liable to 20 years of criminal imprisonment and not to life because of his age.
