The Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, chaired, this Wednesday, January 4, 2022 in Algiers, a meeting of the Government devoted to the examination of files relating to several sectors, indicates a press release from the services of the Prime Minister.
During its weekly meeting, the Government examined several points, including one concerning preparations for the holy month of Ramadhan 2023.
According to the same press release, the Government heard a joint communication from the ministers responsible for trade, the interior, energy, national solidarity, agriculture, hydraulics, fishing and post on preparations for the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
The presentation highlighted the measures taken and the systems put in place to:
- Ensure the availability of food and agricultural products at reasonable prices and the regular supply of the market.
- Adapt the organization and control of the markets in order to meet the demand and needs of citizens during this holy month and to strengthen the fight against speculation.
- Ensure the continuity and quality of services provided by vital public offices for the benefit of citizens across all regions of the country, particularly with regard to the supply of drinking water and energy.
What other sectors were on the agenda?
In addition, in the field of justice, the Government examined a draft law amending and supplementing Law No. 04-18 of December 25, 2004 on the prevention and repression of the illicit use and narcotics and psychotropic substances, presented by the Minister of Justice, Abderrachid Tabbi.
In addition, in the energy sector, the Minister of Energy and Mines presented a communication on the implementation of an energy mix strategy.
To conclude, in the area of agriculture, the Ministers of Industry, Agriculture and Rural Development and Trade and Export Promotion presented two joint communications on: the results of the census of cereal production and pulses and the results of the inventory of storage capacities for food products.
