The Cuban government announced the sale of floor blankets in the Villa Clara warehouses, in the midst of a shortage of this product due to a deficit of raw materials in the country.

For the period from August to December, SAREX plans to produce 600,000 blankets for the floor at a cost of 65 pesos each, which will be sold in warehouses throughout the province.
“Through the exchange market, we will also sell around 100,000 bags to the peasant sector for the harvest of rice, corn, feed and other grains, these containers will have a very affordable price that will not exceed 30 or 35 pesos, Acosta Ruíz explained.
In Cuba there has been great shortage of floor blankets due to a considerable lack of the raw materials used in the manufacture of this cleaning implement, because the government could not pay for its importation.
In 2021, of a plan of three million blankets, only 2.4 were managed to be produced. Barely 1,035,200 were delivered to the entities of the Ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN) for sale to the population and the rest went to prioritized organizations such as Tourism, Health and Education.
