Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas.- Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya unveiled in the grounds of the Honorable State Congress, the gold letters with the legend “2023, Year of the Bicentennial of the Heroic Military College”, as a recognition of loyalty, dedication, sacrifice and vocation of this institution that has forged the profile of the Mexican Armed Forces.
Accompanied by General Juan Ernesto Estrada González, deputy director of the Heroic Military College and General Celestino Ávila Astudillo, commander of the Mexican Army, the governor of Tamaulipas thanked the contribution of the Armed Forces deployed in the entity, for their dedication to security, the peace and well-being of the people of Tamaulipas.
“Today this Casa del Pueblo pays homage to the Heroic Military College on the occasion of the Bicentennial of its foundation,” he expressed and added his approval, because Tamaulipas is one of the first entities in the country to participate in the commemoration of the 200 years of the formal creation of the Heroic Military College.
“Two hundred years of an exemplary military training institution that has given Mexico international prestige, sovereignty and generations of patriots who have served with honor, leaving their mark on key episodes of the great national transformations,” he added.
He also referred to the memorable episodes in the history of Mexico, in which he highlighted the participation of the Cadets of the Military College; first in the framework of the third national transformation, when students from this institution escorted and protected President Francisco I. Madero, during the memorable March of Loyalty and the other, related to the heroic deed of the young cadets during the US assault to Chapultepec Castle, on September 13, 1847.
“Today, in this facility, we are pleased to receive the cadets, who are currently undergoing their training in a school with so much history, with so much prestige, heirs of the valuable Mexican military doctrine, to whom the Nation has entrusted the responsibility to preserve the same values and ensure, at all times, the Honor of Mexico and the extraordinary tradition of an institution, of the stature of the Heroic Military College. Welcome, young people to Tamaulipas ”, he highlighted, referring to the Cadets present in the gallery of the legislative compound, as well as the members of the Escort and War Band that participated in the honors to the National Flag.
In his message, Governor Villarreal Anaya recognized the members of the 65th legislature for making Tamaulipas one of the first entities in the country to participate in the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the formal creation of the Heroic College Military and that the aforementioned inscription be placed in this meeting room, in recognition of its history and contributions to the transformations that have shaped our country.
In his speech, General Juan Ernesto Estrada González, deputy director of the Heroic Military College, who attended with the representation of General Jorge Antonio Maldonado Guevara, director of the campus, thanked the people and Government of Tamaulipas for joining the commemorations of the Bicentennial, of the creation of one of the oldest and endearing institutions of the country, such as the Heroic Military College.
“From its foundation to date, the Heroic Military College throughout 200 years of history; it has consolidated a noble tradition of honor, courage, loyalty and patriotism”, he expressed.
“Currently, the Heroic Military College is not only the custodian and guarantor of bicentennial traditions and virtues, but it is also an educational institution of excellence, where Mexican military leadership is forged and trains young people who, under the premises of love for the country and respect to the rule of law, they will integrate an Army in which peace prevails and that contributes to guaranteeing the security and well-being of the Mexican State,” he added.
General Estrada González revealed that currently 65 cadets from Tamaulipas are studying at the various schools of the military education system, who with effort and dedication will be the future commanders of the Army, Air Force and National Guard.
The reading of the decree, by which it is arranged to inscribe in golden letters, on the Walls of Honor of the Hall of Sessions of the Legislative Power, the legend “Bicentennial of the Foundation of the Heroic Military College” was in charge of the deputy Úrsula Patricia Salazar Mojica , President of the Political Coordination Board of the Honorable Tamaulipas State Congress.
Also participating in this event was General Elpidio Canales Rosas, commander of the 48th. Military zone; General Adalberto Sergio Rojas Mira, state coordinator of the National Guard; General Norberto Cortés Rodríguez, commander of the 4th. Military Region, General Roberto Claudio del Rosal Ibarra, commander of the 8th. Military zone; the general inspector of the National Guard, Javier Gallardo Ortiz and the magistrate Alejandro Salinas Martínez, with the representation of the Supreme Court of Justice and the Council of the Judiciary.
