From the winter solstice on December 21st, the days will start getting longer again. Nature lovers in Nüzig celebrate not only the summer solstice on the Hoher Fraßen, but also the winter solstice.

As early as October and November, hard-working helpers collected wood and set it up next to the cross and covered it. So everything was ready to ignite the winter solstice bonfire in December. With beautiful sunshine from Muttersberg, thick fog in the valley, snow-covered fir trees and a deep wintry path, the group hiked in the direction of Hoher Fraßen. In the evening twilight, the sky showed itself in all its blaze of color and the sea of fog also showed its fascination. The children were allowed to light the winter solstice bonfire with torches. For the 25 mountain enthusiasts, this was another experience in beautiful nature. After the fire had been burned down, we walked back to the Muttersberg. After a little drink on the restaurant terrace, everyone was allowed to use the cable car for the descent. A THANK YOU to the management of the Muttersbergbahn and also a THANK YOU to the organizer of the winter solstice bonfire, Roland Burger. mountain free.
