After the failures in the trade fair business due to the Corona crisis, the Brandenburg President of Farmers is skeptical as to whether the Green Week in Berlin can regain the visitor interest of previous years.
“I’m confident on the one hand. But there will be a certain decline because you have to make the Green Week attractive again,” said the President of the State Farmers’ Association, Henrik Wendorff, the German Press Agency.
“I’m really excited to see how the Green Week will be received. There are a few question marks.” Brandenburg is also represented with slightly fewer exhibitors at the fair, said Wendorff. Baden-Württemberg, for example, announced that it would not have a stand at the trade fair for financial reasons.
After a two-year Corona break, the International Green Week from 20th to 29th January 2023 again as a public fair in the capital. The fair at the beginning of the year is considered the most important showcase for the agriculture and food industry. Before Corona, the Green Week regularly attracted around 400,000 visitors – with tens of thousands of food and beverages from all over the world as well as hundreds of animals and plants.
In 2023, the fair will be a little smaller than in 2020. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, around 200 exhibitors were represented at 73 stands in the Brandenburg Hall. (dpa)
