Ms. Körber, if my private e-mail account were hacked today: will I even notice?
I usually get a message via SMS or to a second email address that someone has logged in from another device or changed the password. With some providers, I only notice it when I want to log in myself and the access no longer works. Or because friends or acquaintances contact you because they have received a strange email from you. But it can also happen that I don’t notice anything at all. Because the attackers have captured my access data, but have not yet used it. As long as I don’t know I’ve been attacked, the scammers have one major advantage over all of us: time.
