Tuesday’s episode started with a sad message from participant and influencer Malin Nesvoll (33). Already in the first half, the 33-year-old says that she has struggled with health problems before her stay.

– In the last few days, I haven’t felt very energetic. I have a lot of pain in my stomach. I’m afraid it’s the cyst I was diagnosed with just before I went into the farm.

It didn’t take long before Nesvoll tearfully told the other participants that she had to go home for surgery.

– I have spoken to the doctor, and she recommends that I should not continue. It’s nothing dangerous, but I have to operate. So I have to go – now, says Nesvoll as tears run down his face.

In August last year, the 33-year-old ended up having the cyst removed. What awaited her when she woke up was an unexpected and discouraging message.

– Crazy message to get

Earlier this month, Nesvoll published a post on her own Instagram, where she talked about the operation and the time after:

“Now it has probably been just over four months since I woke up from the anaesthetic, and was served the diagnosis of endometriosis on a silver platter. Several of you are wondering how it is going. And quite honestly? I HAVE NO IDEA.”

What is endometriosis?

  • Endometriosis is a condition where tissue of a similar type to the lining of the uterus (endometrium) grows outside the uterine cavity.
  • Endometriosis often causes symptoms such as severe menstrual pain, possibly pain during ovulation and, in some cases, chronic pain.
  • Endometriosis occurs in 6 to 10 percent of all women.

Nesvoll has, since her diagnosis in August last year, both on social media and in the media, been honest about how endometriosis has affected her.

What few knew was how it affected her Farmen celebrity stint. Nesvoll saw a stay as a childhood dream come true.

– It was crazy to get the message from the doctor at Farmen that I should resign, I’m not going to lie and say something else, says Nesvoll to TV 2.

The 33-year-old says that when she entered the fourth week on the farm, she had started to dream of a place in the final week. She was motivated and felt she had more to give. But suddenly the body said stop.

– My body and head were not on the same wavelength. In the end, I was in so much pain that I couldn’t do anything, she says about the stomach pain.

– Didn’t have the faintest idea

After the flu withdrew from the farm, it took several weeks before she had the operation to remove the cyst. It was after this that she was diagnosed with endometriosis.

She herself had never thought she had the chronic disease.

– I didn’t have the faintest idea. I’ve been in pain for years, but never thought it would be this bad. I have friends who have endometriosis, but our symptoms were different. So waking up from surgery, only to find out that I have a chronic illness, was surprising to say the least.

Opinion

Now it has been quiet as the grave for four months

Nesvoll is happy that she had the operation, and that it was discovered that she had endometriosis.

– It was hard to get that diagnosis. But there is also luck in accidents, because if I hadn’t had the operation I would have found out. I’m glad it happened the way it did, because now I know a little more anyway, she concludes.
