Hail, Flooding and Tornado Possibility: Severe Weather Risk for Much of Colorado

DENVER, Colorado – Much of Colorado will be experiencing severe weather on Wednesday afternoon mainly in the northeast of the state and includes the Denver metropolitan area.

The risk of severe weather translates into the possibility of hail that could be up to 2 inches in diameter and wind gusts of up to 70 mph. A few isolated tornadoes will also be possible.

The authorities recommend that the population take precautions and pay attention to weather alerts to stay safe during this severe weather event.

The National Weather Service also issued a flood watch that will be in effect for the Eastern Plains and Palmer Divide from 6 pm this afternoon through 6 am Thursday. Excessive runoff can cause rivers, streams, creeks, and other low-lying, flood-prone places to flood.
