This popular date is preceded by the Stonewall riots in New York City in 1969. At that time, the LGTBIQ+ community spontaneously took to the streets to demonstrate against a police raid that occurred in the early hours of March 28. June in a well-known pub that served as a refuge for members queer of the Big Apple. Today, Pride Day is also considered the ideal holiday to celebrate diversity and the freedom of each one to be who they really want.
