Mexico City.- Harry Styles has reportedly filed a lawsuit to crack down on the sale of fake merchandise online.

Billboard Pro has reported that Styles’ lawyers filed the lawsuit in Chicago federal court on Tuesday, January 10, stating that the action was taken for consumer protection.

“Plaintiff is compelled to bring this action to combat Defendants’ counterfeiting of its trademarks, as well as to protect unsuspecting consumers from purchasing counterfeit products over the Internet,” the lawsuit states.

The sale of this type of merchandise is carried out even on official sites such as Etsy or Amazon, by unauthorized sellers of official stores.

Harry Styles requested the removal of these products, in which he indicates the URL of these sellers, since they have not been able to identify real stores or sellers.

According to Rolling Stone, the lawsuit also specifies that “many of the counterfeit items are from online sellers based primarily in China and ‘other foreign jurisdictions’ with a lax trademark enforcement system.”

Meanwhile, the singer is preparing to continue his global Love On Tour concert tour, which will soon be coming to the UK.
