Guadalajara.- The State Prosecutor’s Office announced this Friday that it managed to capture a man accused of sexually abusing a minor whom he hooked up through WhatsApp.

The suspect was identified as Francisco Javier C., captured by means of an arrest warrant granted by a control judge for events recorded during the year 2022 in the Municipality of Gómez Farías.

The data presented by the Prosecutor’s Office detailed that the year that just ended, Francisco Javier contacted a minor through said messaging app.

He interacted with her for a while, managed to gain her trust and convince her to meet in the aforementioned Municipality.

The now detainee made him believe that they would go to dinner, they got into a vehicle and in a lonely street the man stopped his march to sexually assault the minor, according to reports from the Prosecutor’s Office.

The minor reported what happened to her family, and they filed a complaint with the State Prosecutor’s Office, where they began an investigation.

Once they managed to identify the suspect, they presented information before a judge to obtain an arrest warrant, which they finally complied with.

The accused awaits the determination of the judge to know his legal situation.

To prevent cases like this, the Prosecutor’s Office recommended maintaining communication with minors and warning them of the risks of talking to strangers by any means.

“The Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office urges mothers and fathers to maintain close communication with their sons and daughters, to inform them of the risks involved in establishing communication with unknown people and urge them to avoid this type of relationship,” reported the institution.
